  • a few drops Pink and Purple gel food coloring Gel is recommended for better results.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until pale and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, mixing on low speed for about 1 minute.
  4. Sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt, gently folding until just combined. The dough should be slightly sticky.
  5. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes until light golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool completely while preparing frosting.
  7. Beat together softened butter, heavy cream, and powdered sugar until light and airy, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Divide frosting into two bowls, tint one with pink gel and the other with purple. Dollop onto cooled cookie bars and swirl together.
  9. Sprinkle with Valentine’s Day sprinkles and slice into squares to serve.
