- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for 2-3 minutes until fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, mixing until fully combined.
- Sift in the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt, gently folding until just combined.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for about 15 minutes, until lightly golden.
- Let the bars cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before frosting.
- For the frosting, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until creamy, then mix in heavy cream and vanilla extract.
- Divide the frosting and color half with gel food coloring, then swirl both colored frostings over the cooled bars.
- Finish with Valentine's Day sprinkles for decoration.
