Equipment

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by patting the whole chicken dry with paper towels, removing any excess moisture. Generously season the inside and outside with salt, freshly cracked pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Gently place the seasoned chicken into the crockpot, breast side up. Drizzle olive oil onto the bottom of the crockpot for added moisture.
  3. Cover the crockpot with its lid and set it on low heat. Allow the chicken to cook undisturbed for approximately 6 hours.
  4. After 6 hours, use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature has reached at least 165°F. If not, cover and continue cooking.
  5. Once the chicken is fully cooked, carefully remove it from the crockpot and place it on a cutting board. Let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
