- Begin by patting the whole chicken dry with paper towels, removing any excess moisture. Generously season the inside and outside with salt, freshly cracked pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Gently place the seasoned chicken into the crockpot, breast side up. Drizzle olive oil onto the bottom of the crockpot for added moisture.
- Cover the crockpot with its lid and set it on low heat. Allow the chicken to cook undisturbed for approximately 6 hours.
- After 6 hours, use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature has reached at least 165°F. If not, cover and continue cooking.
- Once the chicken is fully cooked, carefully remove it from the crockpot and place it on a cutting board. Let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
