Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Ground Beef Can substitute with ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based alternatives.
  • 1 medium Onion Yellow onions or shallots work well.
  • 8 ounces Mushrooms Fresh crimini or button mushrooms, firm and unblemished.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 cup Beef Broth Can substitute with chicken broth.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce Adjust for low-sodium version.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 8 ounces Swiss Cheese Can substitute with cheddar or mozzarella.
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Greek yogurt can be used as a substitute.
  • 3 buns Hamburger Buns Use gluten-free buns for an alternative.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil For sautéing.
  • to taste Salt & Pepper
  • to taste Fresh Parsley Optional garnish.

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed, then add diced onions and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Return browned ground beef to the skillet. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and beef broth. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Cut hamburger buns into bite-sized cubes and layer in a greased casserole dish.
  7. Pour the beef and vegetable mixture over the cubed buns and sprinkle with Swiss cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
