Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
For the French Toast
  • Thick Bread brioche or challah recommended
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • Butter for Cooking unsalted preferred

Equipment

  • Medium bowl
  • Handheld mixer
  • spatula
  • shallow dish
  • Large skillet
  • Plate

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Use a handheld mixer or a spatula to beat the mixture until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Take four thick slices of bread and spread the cream cheese filling onto one side of each slice. Top each with another slice to create sandwiches, pressing gently.
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and cinnamon until fully combined. Let sit for a couple of minutes.
  4. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated. Allow excess to drip off.
  5. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Place sandwiches in the skillet and fry each side for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Once cooked, let the sandwiches rest on a plate lined with paper towels. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar or topped with fruit and syrup.
