  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning can swap with dried oregano and thyme
  • 1 tsp Paprika smoked paprika adds depth
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese can substitute with Monterey Jack
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese optional
  • 1 cup Beef Broth or Water chicken broth can be used
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil can substitute with vegetable oil or butter
  • to taste Salt & Pepper
For Serving
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley chopped for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and brown the ground beef for 5–7 minutes.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Transfer the beef mixture to the baking dish and layer thinly sliced potatoes on top. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and parmesan cheese over the potatoes, then pour beef broth around the edges.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes, then garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
