Cooking Steps
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 diced onion and 3 minced garlic cloves. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Add 1 pound of ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Stir in 1 cup of dry orzo pasta and toast it for about 1 minute until lightly golden.
- Pour in 1 cup of tomato sauce and 2 cups of beef broth. Stir in 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce to low and simmer uncovered for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- After the orzo is tender, stir in ½ cup of heavy cream and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot.
