  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast can use active dry yeast
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk homemade or store-bought
  • 1/2 cup warm milk non-dairy alternatives are fine
  • 1 large egg or 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce for egg-free
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted coconut oil can be used instead

  • 1 tablespoon butter for spreading
  • 1 tablespoon honey for drizzling

Method
 

Mixing and Baking
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Stir until well mixed.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, warm milk, and beaten egg.
  3. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover and let it rise for 30-45 minutes.
  6. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Cover and let it rise again for 20-30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven, cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
