Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil until shimmering.
  2. Add ground beef, breaking it into small pieces. Cook for about 5–7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3–4 minutes until onions are translucent.
  4. Add sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 4–5 minutes until softened.
  5. Sprinkle in all-purpose flour, stirring for 1 minute to thicken.
  6. Pour in beef broth, scraping the bottom of the pan. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper; simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream until well combined.
  9. Serve hot over noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes.
