Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Slice beef into thin 1/4-inch strips against the grain. Toss with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil; marinate for 10-15 minutes. Prepare vegetables.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch until combined. Set aside.
  3. Heat a wok or skillet over high heat and add cooking oil. Add beef in a single layer, searing for 2-3 minutes, then stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and ginger to the wok and stir-fry for 30 seconds. Add onion and stir for 2 minutes until translucent.
  5. Add chopped cabbage and any optional vegetables, stir-frying for about 3-4 minutes until tender but still crunchy.
  6. Return beef to the wok with accumulated juices. Pour in sauce, tossing together for 1-2 minutes until everything is well-coated.
